BIG things!!!


Wow an actual Sunday devlog?! After 2 missed devlogs I have not made up for...

Fear not, my mini every game developer faces this side project and the no devlog for somewhere around 2.5 weeks things, do not mean the project is canceled! Yay! So what is happening? Well...

The game itself:

Yeah I didn't do much...  Despite my motivation being back, (it wasn't really gone, it's just that it's hard to work on such a big a project after your beginning a new game rush goes away), I now don't have much time now. But I still am trying to get a bit of work done whenever I can!

The move:

I have not discussed this with  the team yet but maybe we should move HeartRuin from GDevelop to Game Maker or Godot. Godot doesn't have visual scripting (at least anymore (maybe in a plugin)) but I also have used it before and it uses GDscript which is similar to Python which I know! Altough it still has a lot of features and differences that I don't know but I think I can try to deal with it. Game Maker has visual scripting, although it is more complicated than GDevelop, if I remember correctly, but I have used it before with uh mixed results... Also it was my first introduction to visual scripting outside of Scratch. That was before I knew engines such as Construct and GDevelop existed. Also also, it is the engine in which Undertale and Deltarune are made... (the entire rest of the team proceeds to gag his mouth as he has to big of an obsession with these games)! Anyways, the reason I want to move is because... I don't know how to describe this, GDevelop feel kind of floaty... Like I can't get some things to work consistently. I still don't think moving the project is a big posiblity, but if I get some REALLY GOOD results out of it, then we might move. I still really like GDevelop, and I think maybe if I mess around with it for long enough I can get the results I want out of it, but somethings just feel really annoying.

This on thing I was wrong about:

So I said in the possible FAQs devlog that my friend @BergerBun came up with the name HeartRuin only because it sounded cool and there wasn't any story behind it, well actually there was some story behind it. Only I can't revival it because that would spoil it! Although we still did come up with some story beats based of the title... 

I'm going to have to make 2 extra devlogs now... So yeah!!!
